Papua New Guinea Peaberry

This is a special, limited quantity, addition to our offerings. Known as a sweet, full bodied peaberry coffee, Papua New Guinea coffee is characterized by a balanced flavor, chocolate overtones and slightly dry, but clean finish. Peaberry is the round, single (most fruit contain 2 seeds, each with a flat side) seed produced in the coffee fruit, occurring in less than 5% of the harvest.

Papua New Guinea, lying just north of Australia, is the 2nd largest island in the world. One half of the island being the nation of PNG and the other half is the Indonesian province of Irian Jaya.

Coffee production originated in PNG with the introduction of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee seedlings in 1927. Most PNG coffee is orgainically grown by small farmers organized into co-ops to share the coffee processing facilities.

Papua New Guinea Peaberry coffee is described as well-balanced, with a rich body, sweet acidity and a complex fruity aroma.

This special offering is only available in a Dark roast.
